Animals without medical history must be vaccinated and quarantined
(for up to 3 weeks), to prevent possible spread of disease.
Altering (Spay/neuter) is necessary to prevent breeding.
The average cost for initial services is $75.00.
In response to a large number of stray and abandoned cats in our area, a catch/alter/release (CAR) program was implemented in 2005.
These cats are caught in live traps, provided veterinary care including altering (spay/neuter) and cared for indefinitely in a colony.
Some are suitable for mousers and others are more suited as indoor cats while some may never be socialized to the point of becoming pets... Socialization is provided and every effort is made to find suitable homes for all cats. Those that do not find homes are cared for on an ongoing basis.

Lucky Scooter came to us with fleas, mites, worms and eyes infected, on the verge of starvation; he was found beside his deceased sibling. Upon arrival, he would just sit and watch the other cats play; after a few days he started to interact on a limited basis; now he jumps and plays with all the other cats. He has always been very affectionate but now has the energy to fully express himself.

2nd Chance Pet Sanctuary
In an effort to save animals from euthanasia, this emergency service was developed. Since space is limited, we initially seek other options for placement by coordinating with other services; when all alternatives have been exhausted, animals in desperate need are taken on a space available basis. Necessary veterinary care and remedial training is provided while a suitable match for a forever home can be arranged.
Anyone seeking to adopt a pet can be put on a list until a suitable match can be found.
